Meet Jaret Koop
I’ve worked in both the private and non‑profit sectors, including managing staff and operations at Long & McQuade and serving as Operations Manager for the Georgian Bay Folk Society, where I help produce the Summerfolk Music & Crafts Festival. I’ve hired teams, worked with ownership, collaborated with volunteers, and served on volunteer boards and committees across several organizations. I’m strongly arts‑focused, and that commitment to music, culture, and creative community life is a major reason I chose to relocate to Owen Sound.
I volunteer with the Reconciliation Garden Committee and the Harmony Centre, and I’ve worked with community groups on projects ranging from coastline cleanups to organizing free music and arts events. I also perform music throughout Owen Sound with many local musicians, keeping me closely connected to the people, places, and creative communities across our city.
