A bit about me

I’ve spent more than 30 years as a working musician, performing with dozens of artists and contributing to the cultural life of every community I’ve lived in, and for the past ten years in and around Owen Sound. Music has shaped how I collaborate, how I listen, and how I show up for people, and those habits have carried into every part of my professional and volunteer life.

Before moving to Owen Sound, I worked as a department manager and I moved to Owen Sound as store manager with Long & McQuade, where I learned the day‑to‑day realities of running a busy retail operation: hiring and supporting staff, managing budgets, solving problems quickly, and keeping a team moving in the same direction. Those years taught me how to lead with clarity and how to stay calm when things get complicated.

After relocating my young family from Burlington to Owen Sound ten years ago, I continued working downtown and eventually stepped into the role of Operations Manager for the Georgian Bay Folk Society, helping produce the Summerfolk Music & Crafts Festival. That work connected me deeply with volunteers, artists, vendors, community partners, and the many people who make our city’s cultural events possible.

I’m also committed to community service. I volunteer with several organizations and causes, including the Reconciliation Garden Committee, the Harmony Centre, and the Arts Alliance. Over the years, I’ve supported a wide range of local events including the Emancipation Festival, The Hottest Street Sale and most recently the Arts & Jazz Festival in the Grey Gallery Garden downtown. Giving my time to these projects keeps me grounded in the people, places, and creative energy that make Owen Sound special.

After a decade of living, working, performing, and volunteering in this city, Owen Sound feels like home in every sense of the word.

Working Together for Our Community

We can tackle the problems we face, but only if we do it together. Real progress depends on collaboration, clear communication, and a shared commitment to our community.
